Resizing Tips

Here, you’ll learn how to resize your photos dimensionally or by file size for social media or website usage. If you don’t need to resize your images, skip this page.

Photograph dimensions are measured in pixels. Uncropped images from my cameras are 8256 x 5504 pixels, which is a 45-megapixel file.

Photograph file sizes are measured in megabytes (MB). Depending on the image content, downloaded photograph file sizes range from 3MB to 14MB.

To make images dimensionally smaller or reduce file sizes, you must reduce the original file dimensions. Resize your photos by referencing my basic instructions or searching for photo resizing advice online.
