The Astorian Photographer
I am a Houston event photographer specializing in event photography at The Astorian. Common coverage includes corporate events, galas, parties, and social gatherings.
As an event photographer, The Astorian is my favorite Houston venue for two reasons. It offers spectacular natural light opportunities during the day, and amazing lighting features at night.
And at night, even if you don’t hire a professional lighting team, there are lights everywhere. That means when I take your event photos, the background of most photos will feature twinkling lights behind the people and things I photograph elevating the photography.
That being said, I’m glad I’ve mastered my on-camera flash photography skills since The Astorian isn’t the easiest place to create great photos if you’re not an expert in your game.
I’ve heard several photographers complain that it’s a dark venue and difficult to get great photos—although that hasn’t been my experience. Choose your photographer wisely.
During daytime hours, this top-floor venue is surrounded by huge windows that bathe every corner in beautiful light. This means that you’ll receive better photos than photos from venues without windows.
The southwest corner of The Astorian offers you and your guests downtown skyline views. When I’m photographing events, I usually incorporate the downtown buildings in your coverage. Although the daytime view is nice, the nighttime view is truly extraordinary. I’ve seen guests fight over tables in that venue area.
The Astorian is located at 2500 Summer St, Houston, TX 77007, less than a half mile from my downtown-adjacent photography studio. The 14,000 square feet of Art Deco inspired space is perfect for events with 100+ guests.
When you hire me for your next event at The Astorian, you’ll receive photos that highlight your event details and the beauty of your venue.
