George R. Brown Convention Center Photographer
I am a photographer specializing in event photography at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB). See why I’m your best choice for exceptional event photography.
The GRB Convention Center is located at 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX 77010, but the entire interconnected area is known as Avenida Houston. Although built in 1987, this vast venue still maintains a modern feel.
Savvy folks organizing, hosting, or exhibiting at Houston’s premiere downtown convention center know that finding a great event photographer isn’t assured—unless you choose me.
When you hire me, I’ll create spectacular photographs that tell stories that make your event look busy, popular, exciting, engaging, collaborative, welcoming, and fun. That means you’ll make exhibitors, sponsors, guests, and management happy with the photography I provide.
My experience includes photographing exhibits, panels, breakouts, discussions, workshops, presentations, speakers (celebrity and non-celebrity), keynotes, and team building. I’ve also photographed behind-the-scenes action, including registration areas and exhibitor trade show booths.
I’ll make great images whether I’m working Hall A – Hall D, Mezzanine A – Mezzanine D, the McKinney Balcony, the Avenida North or South Balcony, the Lamar Balcony, or in any Conference Room, Meeting Room, Ballroom, the General Assembly area, or the Grand Concourse.
If you’re hosting an extra-large event and coverage spills over to Discovery Green, the nearby Hilton Americas-Houston, or the Marriott Marquis Houston, know I’ve photographed similar events. I know how to make the best time between locations and efficiently create powerful photographs at each venue.
GRB Parking Advice
If you’re driving to your conference, here’s some hard-won parking advice I’ve learned over the years that you might find helpful. I don’t want you to struggle or stress like I have in past years.
I prefer parking in Avenida North Garage at 701 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX 77003 or Avenida South Garage at 1710 Polk St, Houston, TX 77003. Of the two, I prefer the Avenida North Garage because access and egress are easier.
If you want to minimize walking and you’re only spending time in one area of the GRB Convention Center, then you might want to refine your garage choice further.
If you’re going to be in Hall A or Hall B on the ground floor, choose Avienda North. If you’re going to be in Hall D or Hall E, choose Avienda South. And since Hall C is in the middle, I’d choose Avienda North over Avienda South.
If you’re only participating in events on the third floor and your events are all centered in Hall B3 or Meeting Rooms 310 to 342, then Avienda North is your best choice. Or, if you’re spending most of your time in Meeting Rooms 360 to 381, then Avienda South is your best choice. If you’re going to be in Meeting Rooms 350 to 352, then either garage is ideal.
Both garages are connected to the convention center via a second-floor skybridge, so you don’t need to go outside. The one downside to those garages is that the parking fees are steep at $40 per day. There might be other nearby less expensive parking options, but none are as convenient as Avienda North or South.
You’ll want to park on the 4th floor or higher because lower floors are reserved for valet parking. Every parking space has proximity sensors, so you look down each row and see open spaces lit by a green overhead light. Taken spaces are lit by a red light.
As you approach each floor, you’ll see a sign indicating the remaining spaces. If you’re like me and don’t like stress, don’t stop on any floor with fewer than 75 spaces. Just go up another floor. There’s a large elevator bank on the west side with always-fast service, and you’ll need to enter the elevator anyway to get where you’re going.
